Benefits of Counselling

Each of us has the capacity to touch the lives of others, one person at a time.
This is true of both therapist and client.

Benefits of Counselling

We often develop wounds from relationships but we can also heal within a relationship.
In our sessions I would wish you to feel supported and fully accepted.

It is important to realise that you are not alone in your feelings whether they be loss, guilt, fear, anxiety, shame, anger or sadness.
As a Gestalt therapist I also believe that distressing thoughts and feelings that are held within our body can sometimes lead to negative effects on our health and with this in mind raising awareness and experiencing these feelings in a therapeutic setting can work towards healing and letting go.

If you have anything you would like to ask please call, text or email me and I will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as I can.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Gestalt Counselling and a University Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.
I have regular CPD training.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to the ethical framework.
I also have a B.Ed Hons. in education and history.
In addition to my private practise I work as a volunteer for Mosaic Counselling Services in St. Albans. This is a community based service offering counselling to those in the local area needing help with emotional well being.
I also work as a part time Primary school teacher. I understand the stresses and strains of working in education and the pressures it places on young people in schools.
